Three countries, 690 kilometres and spellbinding nature experiences – the Alpe Adria Trail offers all of this and more! The trail stretches from Großglockner to the sea and runs through Austria, Slovenia and Italy. In 38 stages, you can experience a diverse journey of discovery through three cultures, with heavenly views of the “Garden of Eden”. Three tours on the Alpe Adria Trail run through the Nockberge region in Carinthia and are therefore at your doorstep when staying in an Active in Nature hotel.

Alpe Adria Trail through Carinthia
The stages of the Alpe Adria Trail lead directly into Nockberge National Park. Enjoy hiking over the picturesque gentle peaks of Nockberge. The special play of light highlights the magical splendour of the impressive landscape’s hues all year round.
Stage 12: Döbriach - Erlacherhaus
This stage of the Alpe Adria Trail takes you through the Nockberge region, via Radenthein to Erlacherhaus. Along the way you will experience nature with all your senses. The trail follows the Kneipp and Mühlen paths, amongst others.

Stage 13: Erlacherhaus – Falkerthaus/Lärchenhütte
The scented and blossoming plethora of flora on this stage, through one of the most beautiful parts of Nockberge National Park, is due to the combination of chalky and crystalline primary rock. You have to ascend three peaks before reaching the finishing point of Falkerthaus/Lärchenhütte: Predigerstuhl (2.170 m), Pfannnock (2.254 m) and Mallnock (2.226 m).

Stage 14: Falkerthaus/Lärchenhütte – Bad Kleinkirchheim
From Falkerthaus or Lärchenhütte, you head over Hundsfeldscharte up to Falkert and on to Rödresnock, which is also the highest point on this stretch. From Rödresnock you descend a little to Schwarzkofel, and continue to Moschelitzenalm – mountain inn Matl Sepp – and via Zirkitzen back to Bad Kleinkirchheim.

Stage 15: Bad Kleinkirchheim – Arriach
This stage, for particularly hardy hikers, takes you from Bad Kleinkirchheim in the direction of Waldtratte up to Kaiserburg. You cross the imposing double peak of Wöllaner Nock to the geographical centre of Carinthia in the village of Arriach, and maybe also to the centre of yourself.

NEWS. Opening of the Alpe Adria Trail in Bad Kleinkirchheim
Recently the starting and finishing points of the Alpe Adria Trail were opened ceremoniously.
Numerous local hoteliers and their guests took part. Afterwards they hiked the whole stage (nr. 14), with a change in altitude of more than 1000 metres, to the mountain inn Matl Sepp.
